she knows i am reading
thinks i’m reading her mind
but i’m just reading her poem

she knows i understand what i read. . .
why did she hand this to me?
an implied threat?

will she defend me from herself?
will she know
i would rather sacrifice myself
than allow the sacrifice of one such as her
