The Great Escape ~ Hope part 3

They just didn’t know what to do with Hope
Kept saying that she was dangerous, scary and unnatural
And it made her cry
And that made the men hold her down and put juice into her body

But it didn’t help
She was floating and cheerful

She begged me to take her with me
and I really thought about it
But I knew they would stop me
So I put the chair under the door handle
like you see in movies
and I tried to open the window but it was locked
so I bashed it out with the stool

She was kinda afraid
Said she didn’t know if she’d fall into the sky
and I didn’t say anything

She looked at the sky and her face began to glow
It was warm and soft like the sun on rain-washed daffodils
and she said she was Ok
and she loved me, but she had to go

So I held the curtain

God I miss her
