Beware, Behold and Rejoice

Beware
By your Love they will try to bind you
for there is nothing more frightening
to the frightened
than a woman in love

By your fears they will try to bind you
for nothing’s harder to control
than a woman without fear

By your sex
your moods and mind
your words, works, marks and memories
they will try to bind you

Behold
She sees even in the darkness that covers the earth
Moving soft and subtle
Unstoppable as the dawning sunday

Her breath comes short in the cold abose the world
as she runs the rivers of the sky
Her hands cold but steady

Rejoice

She offers all but her soul in charity
but not one cent for tribute
and in yielding to the deep magics of life, limb and liberty
she reclaims
redeems
and makes pure the world
