fare thee well my love

i know that your life is difficult
riddled with the tiny tooth demons that you brought into the world
edged and sharp
a world of monochromatic rainbows

and i have been good
i have held to every rule you have made
every rule you have broken
i have held you loosely but with conviction

i know your skies are pewter
but i watched as you cut the hands trying to part the clouds
i know that the scream in your head is deafening
but it your own voice
i know you believe
you could just shove this one last demon into your mind bag
if you could repress this one last sob

its all about control
isn’t it?
the wind’s. . .

you have broken the chains of cause and effect
by wrapping yourself in the folds of darkness
but you can’t defy the law of action and consequence
you leaped from the bow and dared anyone to stop you
and now. . .
now. . .
you call out as you drown
cursing your birth and those who try to save you

i have walked the barbed wire tight rope till my feet bleed
i have run the knife edge
the dividing line between helping and enabling
and i am almost out of blood. . .
if i die on your alter
nothing is saved

and so my love
i must say you are of age
go to
be free
fare thee well my love
