I’m tired of saving the humans

she said
“I’m tired of saving the humans.
Perhaps they should save themselves. . . ”

she produced a mai tai
out of thin air
sipped a dram
sighed as she looked to the setting sun

“The gods were never meant to save humanity
but rather
to teach them how to save themselves. . . ”

she leaned back in the chaise strato-lounger
The ingrates have forgotten how to say ‘Thank You’.”
