“Call it an event.”
“The Event would have disturbed the Quantum Froth. Several rips are evident in the adjacent membranes.”
“How many rips?”
“Twelve, twelve measurable rips in the fabric of reality.”
“Do we have a list of the Talents?”
“Yes, that documentation was left to me and two others. Don’t ask me to identify the other two. My mind has been altered and every time I try to reach for them I get a headache and I wake up in a strange place.”
“Strange place?”
“An alley, by the river. . . Just some ordinary place, with no idea of how I got there.”
“Mind-jacked?”
“The instrumentation says no.”
“Do we know if the Talents have access to this information about the rips?”
“We monitor all the known Talents, but. . .”

“And because they are rogue, there is no way to monitor them.”
“Hence the term ‘Wild Card’.”
