The Old Ways and New

Lancelot screwed his buddy
And Gynn
she was no better
It’s the way the pagans play
Trying so hard to find a way
To mend the crack in the Worlds

I have no right to take up stones
Nor can I
raise the ancient bones
I make no mask or pretense
Lacking even the most common sense
And the Green Knight will kill me sure

Arthur should’ve stayed near home
And Gynn
should have walked
not rode
But bygones are so easy now
Twas writ upon the watery bow
To mend the crack in the Worlds

Who among us can ever know
Not you
not I
The way that this was meant to go
So let’s spin a fairy tale
With echoes cold in this time
And the Dark Night will give way to Dawn
