Beyond the Gate

For ages we guard the Gate
All ask us passage

Ancient Sages
Maidens and School Boys
Crones and Mothers

They ask to go where She has gone
Beyond the Gate
Beyond these walls

She walked
stumbled
careened and crawled like a drunk in Hell

She danced and sang
dirges and star songs

We will open the Gateway
but first you must feel the pain

After all
all journeys begin and end in pain. . .

Pain is the Key that lets you see
The entrance and egress

Bliss for some
Eternal suffering for others. . .

They all ask to go where She has gone
Beyond the Gate
Beyond these walls
