Nikki (Lyric)

Her flesh was mangled by her keeper
Her life became a tomb of scars
Her anguish seared the paint and plaster
Her tears were stains upon her bars

Yet in her heart a freedom flickered
And through her hands a kindness passed

All the braying of the masses
All the dictates of the king
Could not silence her whispered chantings
Could not break her golden wings

Yet in her heart a freedom flickered
And through her hands a kindness passed
