using scientific jargon as an anodyne for the 21st century

(on the stage
the professor holds a recently dead human brain)

this is cauliflower
its not a brain

i can pry it apart
its kinda mushy
but it comes apart as stems
and those funny clumpy parts
on top

there are no dreams in here
just electrical impulses
running through the circuits

there is no heart in here
i mean face it
that heart thing is just a pump
amazing that it works as well as it does
all covered in lipids and gook

that which cannot be understood
should be postponed
until suitably subtle instruments can be devised
proper protocols instituted

either that or dismissed
(who can be bothered. . .?)

all nice and tidy
