The Brutal Mistress and the Traveler

I have watched
sunsets bereft of fire
twilights bled dry of all color

I have traversed frigid, barren
desolate planets
And found them
more giving than you

Indifferent as a dead moon
you orbit in the void

Empty as a dry ocean bed
colder than seven kinds of Hell
You approach . . .
