Post-modern Children

Frightened children
Alone and adrift
in a sea of ones and zeros
Crashing on the shores of broken
mother boards and back planes

Children totally turned inward
Staring at their palms
Their digital Bars of soap

Entertainment is so much more important
than art
Friends number in binary digits
but will not pick you up at the airport
Merchants blacken the holidays
And we all celibate our sterility
