like tears in the sea

the sky is not soul-less
for i float and fly there

in the darkness
between the stars
i hemorrhage my life parna

some fear i will bleed my soul
burning my spirit like oil in the lamp of the sky

some fear the darkness rats
that such wanton dancing attracts

some fear that a man
is not supposed to fly there

fearing
for no reason other than their fear of flying

but i have done my time in the box
i have offered the love of a child
and have been thrown away like a stone

i have found that all the tears i’ve ever wept
make not one inch of difference
in the depths of the seas
and my memories
have been lost
like tears in the sea
