the crazy girl i love

She darn near beat the door down
wanted to burrow some aluminum foil
said she was going to explain everything

said
things always come in threes
like maid, mother and crone
like clover leaves
like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln
and JFK

said
there is a ghost walking around in her
and the doctors can’t find it
not even with one of those MRI thingys

said
the senses can’t be trusted
maleware tapeworms have corrupted all the software
and all the refrigerators are transmogrified into talking heads

She has no patience for the chaos of evolution
no tolerance for the things she cannot see
but i have to admit
the aluminum foil helmet is rather nicely made. . .
