i love you as dark things are sometimes loved

am i to be blamed for loving you?
can love be wrong?

i don’t love you because you are the light
reflected off jonquils and crocus
i love you as dark things are sometimes loved

my dark love
grows darkly in my body
my dark love
comes pouring out of my mouth

i am compelled by my love
though i know not from whence its dark tide arises
all pride and sense of self are washed from me
in the tsunami of my love

i love you
there is no other way
