Murderer (Political)

gleefully he stretches the rope
shakes his box of matches
wipes his drooling mouth on the sleeve
of his dirty cover-alls

weeping tears of joy
he checks to make sure the knot will hold
tries to figure the wind and the best place for watching

“Gentle Sire
Show no gladness in burning this witch
For if she be not a witch
then you are even less than a murderer.”
